Nails can additionally tell a lot  about the state of your health. The main signal that something might be out of balance in your health are the white spots on your nails. Your body may be trying to send a signal of unhealthy condition especially when the white marks comes in different patterns frequently. These spots may be signal of some vitamin deficiency. This condition of the nails is called  leukonychia.

What is leukonychia?

Leukonychia is medical term for discoloration appearing on the nails. These spots are usually harmless and often they are a result of an injury in the nail (trauma). The white spots tend  to heal on their own  but in some cases it could be signal od some serious  issues like heart, liver or kidney problems.

How to get rid of the white spots on the nails?

1.Balanced diet. This diet should include plenty of vegetable, fruits, whole grains, fish, meat. Taking this kind of diet is good for your entire body not only for the nails.  Also you can consume drinks that are fortified with calcium.

2.Grow your nails. Other way to get rid of these spots are to grow your nails. The nail will grow and  move together with the marks. When it will be separated from the bed you should clip it off.

3. Keep your hands clean. Usually these kind of marks are caused by some infections.  You should wash them  thoroughly with anti septic cream to kill the fungi and other bacteria that cause this condition on the nails.

4. Treatment from the doctor. If this condition can’t be reduced after trying with some home remedies, you should visit your doctor. He or she  will diagnose your condition and give you the right treatment.
